Enjoy a beautiful weekend with weather in the 80s!

Friday: Have you heard about Albuquerque Food Fridays? This weekly, open-air food and craft beer event at Civic Plaza is a pop-up happy hour event where you can enjoy fine food, drinks and live music in a fun and unique atmosphere. Alex Maryol and his band will kick off this year’s first Friday event. Robert Punya from Sushi King restaurants and Chef Elvis Bencomo of Pasion Latin Fusion will be serving up Hawaiian style tuna poke, latin ceviche and tacos so you can sample their new restaurant Poki Poki Cevicheria from the Silver Spoon mobile kitchen.

Saturday: This weekend the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History opens their America’s Road: The Journey of Route 66 exhibition that will share the history and fascination of one of the world’s most famous highways, on display May 14 through September 25, 2016. Surrounded by stories, artifacts, music, memorable images and interactive and engaging elements, visitors will experience a geographical and historical tour of the iconic highway, Route 66. Be sure to see the website for related events, including movie nights and car shows featuring vintage places and cars.

Sunday: The Albuquerque Museum and the New Mexico Council of Car Clubs host the 32nd  Annual NMCCC Classic Auto Show. This year’s theme is “Route 66 Cars of the 1930s and 1940s.” Hundreds of antique, classic, exotic and sports cars, along with trucks, motorcycles and vintage camper trailers will be on display in the Museum parking lot.

Sunday: Rail Yards Market is open! Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm through October. Peruse 100’s of New Mexico’s finest food, farm, artisan, and healing vendors, hear live musicians, and come away enriched from educational/demonstration zones for kids and adults. All this under one roof at the historic Blacksmith Shop in the heart of Do! Their interactive vendor map lets you easily find the booth you’re looking for.
